
Who's been on a diet or 3 this year? Have they worked? Did you lose weight and maintain it or did you put it all back on and then some?
Most people associate the word diet with some form of controlled eating habit for a period of time, whether it’s a juice fast or weight watchers. When in fact diet simply means the kinds of food a person habitually eats. The majority of us, including myself, do not have the discipline or self-control to maintain a certain way of eating for a determined period of time, whether it’s due to environment or dramatic changes to our diet. It is therefore important that we re-educate ourselves in our habits in order to lose weight effortlessly and keep to our desired weight.
I am not a dietician, nor a nutritionist, however I am a personal trainer with an advanced weight loss qualification. More importantly, I am a woman who loves her food and has spent years jumping from one diet to the next, trying to reach my goal weight. I have now reached a stage in my life that I am comfortable in my own skin. My body is contradictory, imperfectly perfect. I have a spare tyre across my stomach, yet I have abs of steel! My body has carried 2 beautiful boys and yes pregnancy will do things to your body that you can never change, but that is the joy of motherhood. With this acceptance, I have learnt not to control the food that I put in my mouth but to enjoy and savour every mouthful and know that I am fuelling my body to keep it strong and healthy but not feel guilty about it either.
I want to help you get off the rollercoaster diet wheel and think about how your clothes feel on your body rather than how much you weigh on the scales.
I will work closely with you to find out what foods you like and don't like and devise easy, simple and delicious meal plans so that you will never want to ‘go on a diet’ again.
